What is an AVGS Voucher?
An AVGS voucher (Aktivierungs- und Vermittlungsgutschein) is a free ticket from the German Jobcenter or Employment Agency (Agentur für Arbeit) to get a 100% free Job (Application) Coaching, Career Coaching, Orientation Coaching or Systemic Coaching.
How to get an AVGS Voucher?
You can apply, if you
- Are unemployed or registered at the Job Center/Agentur für Arbeit
- Might lose your job soon (contract ends in 3 months)
Get benefit payments or are self-employed with low income.
Just finished your studies or training and need a job.
- Want to start working again afer a break (family leave etc)
Step by Step
- Find a Coach: You dont have to look far anymore 😉
- Ask Your Advisor: Contact your personal casemanager (Sachbearbeiter/Vermittler) at the Agentur für Arbeit or Jobcenter.
- Explain Why: Tell them you need coaching to find a job faster. It helps to say: “I found a certified coach and would like to use an AVGS to improve my job chances” – we can talk this though.
- Receive the Voucher: If approved, you will receive the paper voucher by mail or email.
- Send it to me: And i will take care of the rest.
Some tips
- It is free: The government pays 100% of the coaching.
- It is your right: If you have been searching for a job for 6 weeks, it is generally your right to get it.
- Come Prepared: Give arguments what kind of coaching you want and why it helps you.
- Ask in Person: You have much higher chances to get the voucher in a personal meeting with your case manager.
